** Winning **

First of all I would like to apologize for taking a two week not-deserved break.  I have been infuriatingly busy over that past couple of days and I didn't find a chance to blog until today.

This post is going to be about winning and what it means to us.  Winning is defined as "gaining, resulting in, or relating to victory in a contest or competition".  We all win at some point in our live and we all also lose.  Winning is often associated with happiness, when it is possible to be a joyful loser.  I find that when I lose at something I am often frustrated of angry immediately afterwards, but in time I usually realize that I didn't deserve to win of forget about the matter altogether.  When I win,  I become conceited and pompous.   Then feel the need to keep winning, and when I eventually lose I am crushed.  This happens to all of us, and very few people have taught themselves how to let go of it.

In all honesty it really doesn't matter most of the time.  We expect ourselves to be the best at everything, which is impossible.  A perfect person has never set foot on Earth, and they never will.  We all have to learn to move past our flaws, and keep going when we fail.

Losing is making us better and improving us in ways that we can't even begin to fathom.  It makes us who we are, and we can't change what has happened.   You have to learn to accept losing as a part of life.  Winning is not what life is about.  At the end of the day you are the same; win or lose.

Shipping.

It turns out that I have less time then anticipated this week, and so I have decided that today I will talk about something that most teenage girls nowadays gossip and rant about.  Shipping.

If you are not familiar with the term 'ship' then let me briefly enlighten you.  Ships are people or characters that you would like to see in a relationship (no matter how improbable they may be).  Ship names are the name of the relationship, and they are usually the names of the shipped combined. An OTP (One True Pairing) is your ultimate ship.  It is the core of your teenage existence, and the one ship that you wish could be true more than anything.

Shipping is a common occurrence on social media sites like tumblr.  Celebrities and characters from TV shows are shipped with one another and written into fanfiction (a topic for another day).

Although ships can be very funny and cute at times, they can also be very annoying at others.  They can be especially infuriating if you are on the receiving end.  The shipped may feel pressure to be in a relationship or it may cause awkwardness in an existing friendship.  Some people don't seem to get that fact, and I would just like to say that it may seem silly or fun, but you may want to think of how it will make the shipped feel.  I do enjoy a good ship (and I still ship quite a few people), but I never really thought about how it may make them feel until the feeling was brought upon me.  So next time you have the sudden urge to gush over your OTP... maybe just do it in your head. :)

Welcome!!!

Welcome to my new blog!

Hi, my name is Elliana and I am a student in the US who needs nothing more than a good movie and a warm blanket to survive.  I have recently been inspired by other bloggers, and thought that I should try it out myself.  This will certainly be a different experience for me and hopefully an enjoyable one.

I see this as a new journey in my life and I would like you to join me.  I will try to post once a week (no promises!) about my thoughts, reviews, or whatever else is going on in my life at the time.  I am by no means an expert blogger, so I will certainly make mistakes along the way.  If you would like me to try something or fix on of my mistakes just comment below and I will try my best to fulfill your wishes.  I'm really, really excited to launch this blog and I hope you will enjoy it too!  There is definitely more to come, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
